Australia: Many rainwater tanks contaminated
MELBOURNE – HIGH levels of lead, zinc, cadmium and other heavy metals have been found in rainwater tanks across Melbourne, research shows.
One-third of tanks assessed in the study had lead levels above Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, including one tank with lead 35 times above recommended safe levels of 0.01mg/L.
