Don’t drink the water, residents told in 1,766 Canadian communities
More than 1,700 boil-water advisories are in effect in communities across Canada. Ontario is hardest hit with 679 advisories, the Canadian Medical Association Journal reports in its May edition. Every province and territory, except for Prince Edward Island, Yukon and Nunavut, has advisories in place warning people that tap or well water is unsafe to drink — and in some cases risky to bathe in — because of contamination.
