Less Snowfall Lowers Water Level
ISLAMABAD – Some 25 percent less than normal snowfall last winter would result in reduced water inflow in rivers, an official of the Met Department said on Saturday.
He said the water inflow was enough to fill Tarbela Dam but substantial rains were required in catchment area of Mangla Dam during monsoon season, he said. A report to this effect would be submitted for discussion with an advisory committee of the IRSA tomorrow (Monday).
