Nigeria: Water Protest Turns Violent
ABUJA, Nigeria — Water vendors yesterday protested over a slight increase in bore-hole water prices at Nyanya, Abuja.Some water vendors that formed themselves into a monitoring team were seen attacking their members that were seen carrying water to sell.
A water vendor that fell victim to this group was beaten mercilessly and his water poured on the ground.
Another vendor that could not tolerate the beaten drew out a dagger and was stoned with rocks by the group until he fled for safety.
