Riverkeeper moves to block Seminole’s water plan
ORLANDO, FL – The St. Johns Riverkeeper says it plans to take legal action to block Seminole County’s plan to withdraw up to 5.5 million gallons per day from the St. John’s River.
The private non-profit watchdog organization for the river says it plans to file suit against the St. Johns River Management District to block the agency from permitting requests to remove water from the St. Johns and Ocklawaha rivers. According to the Orlando Business Journal, the group also says it will seek an administrative hearing on Seminole’s proposed water plans.
